Hurvínek Has a Birthday!

A big, interactive exhibition for the whole family, which was organized by the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theater and lent to the Chrudim Puppetry Museum by them.

Under the direction of Denisa Kirschnerová, the exhibition’s creators have interpreted this as a birthday party, where each room represents one enormous present that individual members of Hurvínek’s theatrical family have prepared for him. Inside, visitors will find a number of games and entertaining objects, which guide them playfully through Hurvínek’s entire ninety-year journey to the realm of fantasy. As part of the exhibition, they can – together with the birthday boy – unwrap unusual birthday presents, such as Grandmother’s inflatable bundt cake; act onstage in the main roles of Hurvínek’s most famous plays; or revive Hurvínek’s favorite sayings and jokes.
